Shopify customer import CSV
Build a customer file that matches Shopify's customer CSV template: valid emails, unique phone numbers in E.164, address columns in the right places.
The short answer
Shopify's customer import fails on invalid emails, phone numbers not in international (E.164) format, phone numbers used by more than one customer, and columns that don't match its template. Use Shopify's current template headers, fix phones to +country format and keep each email and phone unique.
How to do it with Rowvio
- 01Drop the customer list into Rowvio and choose Shopify → Customers.
- 02Columns are mapped to Shopify's template (First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Default Address fields).
- 03Phones converted to E.164; repeated phones cleared so only the first customer keeps it.
- 04Download the CSV.
- 05In Shopify admin: Customers → Import.
